Post 8 American Legion Riders

Who We Are

We are members of the American Legion and its' entities, Who Ride Motorcycles. The American Legion Riders are members of the American Legion who are also motorcycle enthusiasts. They can be found participating in parades, partaking in motorcycling events, and supporting the communities in which they live, work, and play. Members of the ALR come from the Legion, the Legion Auxilliary, and the Sons of the American Legion. The American Legion Riders were formed to participate in parades and other ceremonies that are in keeping with the Aims and Purposes of the American Legion; to promote motorcycle safety programs and to provide a social atmosphere for American Legion members who share the same interest and to use our Association to promote and support programs of the American Legion.

The American Legion Riders is not a M/C, and does not practice M/C rules or regulations. The American Legion Riders is family-oriented, just as is its parent organization: the American Legion.

Post 8 American Legion Riders History

Post 8 American Legion Riders (ALR) were formed in December 2003 and have been an active participant in American Legion Post 8 since it's inception. We hold several events throughout the year. One of our favorites that we began our first full year is our "Christmas for the Kids" project. During this event we adopt as many families as possible to support for the Christmas season. These families are invited to our post where Santa will arrive shortlty bearing gifts. We serve them and all members and guests of the post Christmas Dinner. The members of the ALR and our post enjoy this event tremendously. We also participate in parades throughout the year, hold poker runs to raise funds for those in need and for special items our post is in need of. We also get together throughout the year and have "fun runs". Keep an eye out on this page and the Events page of the Legion Site for upcoming Rider events. While on our page check out our links to other ALR Groups within the State and also the Patriotic Guard Riders.
